Dr. Stacy Hare is a true East Coast transplant. Growing up in Maine, she did her undergraduate work at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, earning a B.S. in Animal Science. She then went to Tufts University for her degree in veterinary medicine, graduating in 2002. Immediately upon graduation, she moved to California and began work at VCA Blossom Hill. In her spare time, Dr. Hare enjoys horseback riding, quilting, cycling, skiing and traveling. She is currently living with her husband, Kyle, and two cats, Smeagol and Wendy.
After graduating from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1968, Dr. Peters joined the Army as a vet for 2 years. He spent one year in Vietnam treating Army dogs. After leaving the Army, he practiced small animal medicine in Los Angeles for 2 years, then came north to Santa Clara Valley. He spent one year at clinics in Saratoga and downtown San Jose, then finally settled at Blossom Hill in 1973. In 1986, he left Blossom Hill for greener pastures in Oregon, owning his own practice until 1994. He came to his senses and moved back to Blossom Hill in 1994, where he has remained since. Dr. Peters lives in San Jose with his beautiful wife of more than 40 years, some extended family and a cat named Smokey with a bad hip.
Dr. Eva Roehrkasse grew up in Nevada, getting her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of Nevada- Reno. She then went to the University of Missouri-Columbia for her veterinary degree, which she attained in 1992. After a small animal internship at the Sacramento Animal Medical Group from 1992-1993, she began practicing full time, finally ending up at Blossom Hill in 2002. Her special interest in the veterinary field is feline medicine. When not at work, Dr. Roehrkasse enjoys traveling, scuba diving and photography, hobbies she shares with her husband Carter and daughter Avery. Also at their home in San Jose are two cats, Possum and Badger.
Dr. Louise Rathjen was born in London, England and lived in Houston, Texas prior to settling down in California. She completed her undergraduate work at San Diego State University, earning a degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in physical therapy. She then went on to receive her degree in veterinary medicine at Western University of Health Sciences in 2011. To strengthen her practical application of veterinary medicine and to gain experience with more complex cases, Louise participated in an internship ast VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital prior to joining us here at VCA Blossom Hill. Louise enjoys traveling, wine tasting, camping and spending time with friends and family. Currently Louise lives with her husband, Nick, their two kitties Travis and Veronica, and their dog Leroy.
